The origins of Jack's Place trace back to Mr. Say Lip Hai's journey from Hainan Island to Singapore.
Landing a job with the British troops in Sembawang, Mr. Say initially served as a cookboy, where he honed his culinary skills, mastering dishes like the classic roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
It was one of his now-renowned meals that prompted a British housewife to propose a business idea. She suggested that Mr. Say partner with her husband, Jack Hunt, to launch a catering service in his Killiney Road pub, Jack's Place, established in 1966.
Embracing the opportunity, Mr. Say joined the venture in 1968. Despite Jack Hunt selling his share soon after, his legacy lives on through the thriving kitchen still aptly referred to as 'Jack the Chef'.
Jack's Place has since become a cherished spot for families and friends seeking deliciously sizzling steaks, specialty meals, and indulgent cakes. We remain devoted to serving high-quality food and crafting unforgettable dining experiences in our welcoming and homely environment.
