The house of FENDI was founded by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925. They opened their first FENDI boutique, which initially specialised in handbags and fur craftsmanship. In 1965, FENDI began a collaboration with the renowned designer Karl Lagerfeld, marking the start of a long-standing partnership. In 1992, Silvia Venturini Fendi joined Lagerfeld in the creative direction of the brand. She initially took charge of leather goods accessories and later expanded her responsibilities to include the kidswear and menswear lines.

In 2000, FENDI became part of the LVMH Group, with LVMH acquiring majority ownership in 2001. This partnership further strengthened FENDI's position in the fashion industry. Today, FENDI is globally recognised as a symbol of quality, tradition, experimentation, and creativity.
