Established by a lineage of restaurateurs, Komala's was founded over 75 years ago by Mr M. Rajoo.

Beginning as a humble establishment serving traditional South Indian vegetarian meals, Komala's has since grown into a renowned brand, cherished for its authentic, value-for-money Indian cuisine.

The commitment to quality, cleanliness, and hygiene has been a cornerstone of the brand, earning it widespread popularity over its long history.

While originally focused on South Indian food, Komala's has expanded its culinary repertoire to include North Indian, Chindian, and other vegetarian varieties, catering to a diverse range of palates.

R.T. Sekar, the son of M. Rajoo, has continued his father's legacy, pioneering two new dining concepts: Komala’s Restaurants Fast Food and Komala’s Fusion Dining.

Komala's Restaurants Fast Food offers traditional Indian vegetarian food in a self-service, westernised setting, while Fusion Dining combines Indian cuisine with local selections, creating a unique dining experience.

Recognising a market demand for contemporary Indian vegetarian dining experiences, R.T. Sekar launched Komala’s Restaurants in July 1995, offering traditional food at affordable prices in a modern setting.

Komala's Restaurants cater to teenagers, young adults, families, and tourists, providing an Indian meal option with the convenience of fast food.

With a firm belief in the global appeal of this dining concept, particularly among those who enjoy Asian dishes and vegetarian food, Komala's aims to serve both the local community and the large overseas Indian communities worldwide.
