Established in 1993, ICBC Singapore Branch holds the distinction of being the first overseas institution of ICBC.

In 2012, it was honoured with a qualifying Full Bank Licence by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

A year later, in 2013, The People's Bank of China appointed ICBC Singapore Branch as the first Renminbi (RMB) Clearing Bank outside Greater China and the exclusive RMB Clearing Bank in Singapore.
